Rule Changes
In the Cup:
A batsman must now retire after scoring more than 39 runs.
Batsmen will not be allowed to return to the crease once out if the team has less than 11 players
Bowlers are still restricted to four overs
There are no restrictions on the batting order (i.e. top three batsmen may bowl)
Players aged 16 and under are allowed to play for different teams on Wednesday and Thursday nights in the League but can only represent one team in the Cup.

Cup Draw
The draw for the group stage of the cup was announced as:
Group 1: Panthers, Health Pros, St Michael’s Youth
Group 2: Kingholm Meadow, Shipwrecks, Annandale Insurance
Group 3: Castle Beattie, Annan, Burgh Boys
Group 4: Dalton, Lockerbie, Dumfries Colts
New Teams
The League has had approaches from two new teams – Galloway Allstars (Women’s team) and Closeburn. If they enter this year, they will only play in the League to avoid complications with the cup draw. So the League could be about to make its first expansion for a few years, which can only be good news…
