2011 League and Cup Rules

1. Matches to be decided over 20 six ball overs per side with the side scoring most runs winning.

2. A tied cup-tie will be awarded to the side losing fewest wickets.

3. League points will be awarded as follows:

3 for a win (including by default),
2 for a tie,
1 for a defeat,
0 for defaulting on a fixture.

4. Abandoned and cancelled matches to be played as soon as practicable, with the Secretary informed of new date or any difficulties. (See list of Officials). Where a match is cancelled due to weather the home side MUST inform the Council on the NEXT working day. To do this, phone 01387 260000 Ext. 63217.

5. In the event of the League producing joint winners, a play-off will decide.

6. Clubs must operate according to the instructions issued by the League regarding Safety of Young Players.

7 Bowlers restricted to four overs per innings and to approaches of less than ten yards from the stumps; the home side to mark this limit.

8. Batsmen must retire on scoring more than 24 runs.

9. Substitute fielders allowed only with permision of opposing captain.

10. Umpires appointed by the batting side for the duration of their innings unless appointed by the Committee. Captains should ensure the best possible standard of umpiring by using inexperienced people at square leg only.

11. One match ball to be used by both sides.

12. Each side to provide a score book, the winning side to notify the Press Secretary, by Friday noon, of the result and details.

13. Matches to start at 6.15 p.m., a side unable to take the field at this time loses the toss.

14. The entry fee should be paid to the Treasurer prior to the start of the competition. (See list of Officials).

15. The competitions to be run by a Committee of Secretary, Treasurer and three others.

16. Clubs will provide the Secretary with a list of players for registration. Unregistered players may play only if the team is short, and such players bat after all registered players and do not bowl. Normally additional registrations will not be allowed after 1st July.

17. The Committee will place restrictions on some registered players informing the clubs of these restrictions.

18. Only the Committee can sanction the transfer of a player from one club to another during the season.

19. Super Trophy final players must have played at least 50%
of all completed games to be eligible. Rules committee to be contacted in disputed cases.
